As It Is mantuvieron la energía mientras tocaban canciones pegadizas.
A nuevos temas de su último álbum, The Peace And The Panic, incluyendo "Parachute", "In Bloom", y el desgarrador "Wish You Were Here", escrito después de que el cantante Ben Barlow y guitarrista Fil Thorpe perdieron a familiares este año pasado. Los fans corrieron al escenario mientras el grupo tocaba "Where Do We Go When We Go." Last Thursday, fans of Neck Deep were finally able to see the band play a set in Madrid. After some venue changes, the show was almost canceled, but the night was still a success thanks to the promotion and production teams. The night started with UK-natives, Blood Youth, filling the room with their hardcore, punk sound as fans started piling into the hall. Real Friends were then greeted with cheers as they played their first-ever Madrid show. Fans were told to get closer and to start getting on stage with the group. Before we knew it, kids started crowd-surfing and stage. As It Is kept the energy up as they played catchy tunes that had the room jumping and singing along. All three openers helped bring the atmosphere of the room to an electric state and once Neck Deep hit the stage, the room went wild and the crowd sang along to the opening song, “Happy Judgement Day” almost louder than lead singer Ben Barlow over the speakers.
And that energy held up the entire night. With every track that Neck Deep started, the fans screamed and sang along. Barlow told the crowd that they don’t play many shows anymore without barricade so he encouraged fans to continue coming up. People crowd-surfed and jumped off stage, some even stayed on the stage to grab a mic and sing with the band, which at times threw the group off guard. The band played songs ranging from the very first song they ever wrote, “What Did You Expect?” to new tracks off their newest album The Peace And The Panic including “Parachute”, “In Bloom”, and the heart-wrenching “Wish You Were Here,” written after both singer Ben Barlow and Fil Thorpe both lost family members in the past year. Emotion was heavy in the air as fans identified with the song’s message – many with tears in their eyes as they sang along. After the song’s end, Barlow told the crowd to wipe their tears, and that things were going to pick up again, and the rest of the band came out to start the next fast-paced track. And on the last song of the night, he declared “This is your stage, get up here.” Fans rushed the stage and as the group played their first single released with The Peace And The Panic, “Where Do We Go When We Go,” fans continued to jump onto the stage and sing with the band. What could have been a canceled-night ended up one to remember for both the fans and the band as they shared their first Madrid set. We leave you with the gallery of our night with Neck Deep:
